Yogendra Yadav and Suhas Palshikar Request Removal of Names from Political Science Textbooks, NCERT Declines

Political scientists Yogendra Yadav and Suhas Palshikar have asked the publishing company to remove their names from the political science textbooks because they do not want to be connected with the syllabus, which NCERT has removed from the textbooks for classes 10 and 12.

Yogendra Yadav demanded that his title as the principal advisor for the NCERT political science textbook be dropped, claiming that he cannot be made to support a work he no longer approves of. But NCERT has been quite clear that they won't be following the request.

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), however, stated that the disassociation of any individual is not possible because school textbooks are created based on knowledge and understanding of a particular subject, and no individual authorship is ever claimed.
