The second Tahoe Literary Festival releases its fall dates of Oct. 10 and 11, 2025. New York Times-bestselling author Katy Hay; award-winning author, nature writer and humorist Michael Branch; Nevada County Poet Laureate Karen Terrey; and Reno Poet Laureate Jesse James Ziegler are scheduled featured authors. Brooke Warner, author and publisher of She Writes Press, and Steve Wasserman of Heyday Books are scheduled presenters. Additional authors are to be announced in August.
The Tahoe Literary Festival is a community-based event that nurtures creativity, fosters community, fosters artists, and inspires anyone who is interested in the literary arts in whatever expression they are drawn to. The festival includes generative workshops, craft lectures, readings, and panels. The Literary Festival aims to inspire writers, potential writers, readers, and anyone interested in wading and exploring the literary waters.
The festival has ticketed and free events, as well as ticket-free author-led readings, book fair, and Literary Open Mic by Scott Green of the Tahoe Poetry Collective on Friday, Oct. 10, at Tahoe Wine Collective. On Saturday, Oct. 11, attendees can indulge in daylong programming with publishing and author panels, workshops, author readings and discussions. Saturday night includes a free Songwriters' Showcase hosted by Will Richardson of Tahoe Institute of Natural Science.
