Sudha Murty: About the Author

Sudha Murty was born in 1950 in Shiggaon, in northern Karnataka. She holds a Master's of Technology in computer science and is the chairperson of the Infosys Foundation. A versatile writer in both English and Kannada, she has produced novels, technical books, travelogues, short story collections, nonfiction, and four children's books. Her writing has been translated into all prominent Indian languages. Sudha Murty won the R. K. Narayan Award for Literature and the Padma Shri in 2006, and she won the Attimabbe Award from the Karnataka government for excellence in Kannada literature in 2011.
