Soumya Ayer

Soumya Ayer is intrigued by what object narratives – be they sculptural, ceramic, shadow-play or textile – have to say: I am interested in artefacts that travel in time, space and culture; artefacts that bear the burden of such imaginaries – of a past, a place, of a people – who, perhaps have left this world behind but who are in many ways continue to inhabit the world we inhabit. She has written a series of book on Indian mythological characters especially designed for children. The Ghost of Malabar is her first work of fiction for children that combines her passion for object histories and storytelling.
