Shanghai Book Fair Concludes Successfully

The Shanghai Book Fair wrapped up on Tuesday evening, marking a 35 per cent increase in book sales from the previous year, totalling nearly 50 million yuan. Revenue from cultural and creative products amounted to almost 5 million yuan.

The book fair’s impact spread beyond literary domains. It increased foot traffic and sales for surrounding businesses through its collaboration with sports, cultural, tourism activities, and commercial.

The fair’s dedication to promoting reading was reflected in its diverse programming, presenting over one thousand reading events, including book launches, author signings, and lectures by famous scholars and writers.

Moreover, the fair promoted literature, with more than sixteen thousand titles on display. It prioritised public service by offering services such as ticket assistance for the elderly and special service centres at the main venue.

Despite the challenges posed by multiple days of thunderstorms, the event proceeded smoothly, with the dedication of nearly three thousand staff members, providing a positive experience for all visitors.

Concurrently, the Shanghai International Literary Week attracted international and domestic authors who participated in cultural exchanges and literary discussions, improving the overall experience.
