"More research into Subramania Bharati and his writings is required," stated Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi on Sunday.

"Is he fading out of memory?" he wondered during an event commemorating the birth anniversary of the Tamil poet here. There are shouts for numerous people, but no cheers for Bharati," he added, adding that people should remember Bharati's contribution to literature throughout India's colonisation. Greater research and expanded involvement of scholars and academia are required to grasp his contribution, he noted.

"The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra's current goal is to make India a developed nation by 2047." With this in mind, we must be proud of our legacy as we embark on this journey, and Bharati's heritage is possibly the richest that we have today," Mr. Ravi remarked.

Mr. Ravi gave the Bharathiyar Award for 2023 to retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer K. Vijay Kumar. Mr. Vijay Kumar presented the award to all grades of police officers. "The policemen are remembered in crises," he remarked, recalling occasions when the importance of police is highlighted. Reforms are beneficial, but they must be firm and substantial, not timid and flimsy. It should be the prosecution, the bail system, and the probation system. "The entire spectrum."
