Babylon Books Marks 15 Years in Publishing as 100th Title Nears

Babylon Books is marking its 15 years of success in the publishing field as it prepares itself for yet another significant landmark: the launch of its 100th publication. Launched by the best-selling writer William Bernhardt, the publishing house based in Oklahoma City, has grown into one which boasts of a wide range of fiction and nonfiction publications whose readers can be found all over the United States and in other countries too.

Starting off as a publishing house of fiction, Babylon has published titles of some of the famous fantasy writers such as Tamara Grantham and Cary Herwig. One of the great successes of this publishing house is Betsey Kulakowski’s Veritas Codex series, where the first title has made it to number one on the Amazon bestseller list.

In the past 15 years, the number of authors in the publisher’s list of books has grown to include the likes of John Wooley who won a Bram Stoker Award nomination; Hannibal B. Johnson; Barry Friedman; Marty Ludlum; Susy Smith and David L. Robbins, a bestselling author of the New York Times. Babylon Books’ catalogues range from different genres and topics, with an emphasis on authors with unique stories that can appeal to readers outside their targeted market.

However, Babylon Books has grown in the non-fiction genre. One example is John Wooley’s Twentieth-Century Honky-Tonk which chronicles the story of the historic Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa. 100th Title To Mark Landmark Achievement

The 100th title published by Babylon Books will be Jack & Nikita, a historical novel set during the Cold War era, written by David L. Robbins, whose works the company terms those of a No. 1 New York Times bestseller author. It will mark 15 years of acquisitions, editing and production.

Founder William Bernhardt sees more significance in this achievement besides the numerical value it carries. According to him, the company's aim is to maintain high standards of editing while giving due consideration to the authors and providing them with opportunities for a career.

The activities of Babylon Books further expand into WriterCon, an annual writers conference created by Bernhardt. The conference unites writers, editors, publishers, literary agents, and other publishing professionals for educational purposes and professional networking. WriterCon’s 19th annual conference took place in Oklahoma City in September 2026, while the 20th anniversary is scheduled to be celebrated in Labor Day weekend 2027.

As Babylon Books moves forward, the publisher is planning to continue acquiring new titles, working on developing the author list, continuing the expansion of existing series and offering fiction and non-fiction books to the readers. The upcoming release of Jack & Nikita will make the catalogue reach 100 titles and will signal the beginning of a new era in publishing after 15 years of experience.
