The 10th World Literature Festival Commences in Zagreb

The tenth edition of the World Literature Festival, organized by the Fraktura publishing firm, began on Sunday in Zagreb with the publication of Croatian writer Olja Savievi Ivanevi's latest work, "Ljeta s Marijom" ("Summers with Marija" in an unauthorized translation).

This year's World Literature Festival, which runs until September 9, contains some of the greatest names in the literary world in 2021, as well as upcoming stars and modern classics.

The festival's authors come from 14 nations and have received a variety of literary accolades, including the Prix Goncourt, The Man Booker Prize, and the Costa Book of the Year Award.

The audience will be able to meet British writer Bernardine Evaristo, author of one of the decade's most influential books, "Girl, Woman, Other," British writer Monique Roffey, whose modern fable "The Mermaid of Black Conch" won the 2020 Costa Book of the Year award, and Serbian author Milena Markovi to discuss the heart-breaking novel/poem "Djeca" (Children).

Meetings with Israeli novelist Dror Mishani, Austrian author Karl-Markus Gauß, German author Katharina Volckmer, and several other international and domestic writers are also planned for the festival.
