Literati Book Fairs Expand its Wings into New Territories Following a Successful First Season

Literati Book Fairs announced this week that it is extending its operations for the 2022-2023 school year and will now serve schools in chosen areas throughout the Southeast and Midwest, as well as Northern California, Arizona, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Literati Book Fairs for PK-8 elementary schools in these areas can now be reserved for the 2022-2023 school year and beyond.

Literati, a curator and distributor of children's books (including subscription book boxes and online book clubs), purchased Follett Book Fairs in March 2022 and plans to expand its school book fair business across the United States.

"The advancement into these new regions allows us to bring the magic of a Literati Book Fair to even more students and families," said Literati vice president of sales Barb Wing, adding that Literati Book Fairs provide librarians, students, and parents with a "unique book fair experience" that can be easily set up in "an hour or less" and provides participating schools with multiple profit options. Schools can also receive incentives when pupils join a Literati kids' book club.

Each semester, Literati Book Fairs include "contemporary and whimsical" new themes to provide an interesting reading environment for kids. "Passport to Adventure" and "Under The Sea" are the Literati Book Fair themes for the fall '22 and spring '23 book fairs.

Literati also provides customers with a collection of "thematic, premium marketing materials" to help librarians and parents promote their book fairs.

Wing, a first-time attendee at the ALA annual meeting in June, told PW that the firm would continue to develop its book fair business in support of young readers and libraries. "Spring 2022 was an incredible first book fair season for us, and we are thrilled with the good reaction," Wing stated. "We look forward to building on that momentum throughout the school year and beyond."
