Jammu Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha to Inaugurate the 4th Kumaon Literary Festival in Srinagar

Jammu & Kashmir's lieutenant governor from October 19–20, 2022, Manoj Sinha will open the Kashmir Edition of the Fourth Kumaon Literary Festival in Srinagar.

New Delhi: Several sessions on literature, film, art, and culture will be presented during the Kumaon Literary Festival, one of India's most prestigious literary events. 

"India has been a worldwide center for arts and culture for centuries; the site and inspiration for renowned works of literature, theatre, and art; and the home to artists and authors from across the world," said Asha Batra, co-founder of the festival, in a statement announcing the event. Brilliant and original brains from a variety of artistic fields are together during the event. This year's speaker lineup is really good, and there are also some intriguing book releases and debates.

Distinguished speakers at the festival this year include Dr. Bibek Debroy, the chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, Ashwin Sanghi, the best-selling fiction author in India, veteran filmmaker and author Rahul Rawail, award-winning filmmaker and branding expert Rahul Mittra, actor Divya Dutta, founder of Katha Kathan Jameel Gulrays, veteran journalist Bhawana Somaaya, senior journalist and author Anant Vi. 

In addition to discussions of books like "Kishore Kumar: The Ultimate Biography" by Parthiv Dhar and Anirudha Bhattacharjee, "The Magicians of Mazda," "The Mystic and the Lyric: Four Women Poets from Kashmir," "Inked in India-Fountain Pens and A Story of Make and Unmake," and "Inked in India-Fountain Pens and A Story of Make and Unmake," will be the literary festival's highlights. 

The Yumberzal Applied Research Institute in Kashmir, KYARI, is collaborating with the Kashmir Edition. "The fest will see the participation of many eminent writers and literary persons from the region," said Arhan Bagati, founder of KYARI and host of Kashmir Edition, "such as Neerja Mattoo, Nirupama Kotru, Saleem Beg, Sanjay Raina, Siddhartha Gigoo, Aditya Raj Kaul, Ajay Raina, Dinesh Manzoor Bhat, Khushboo Mattoo, Nusrat Durrani.

Sumant Batra, a renowned international attorney, author, and advocate of culture launched the event in 2014. The non-profit festival has staged several successful events in which hundreds of international intellectuals and literary greats have participated.
