KnowledgeWorks Global Ltd. (KGL) has rolled out a second generation of AI, powered publishing workflows that aim to revolutionize the production, review, and publication of scholarly content. This project incorporates artificial intelligence in the editorial, production, and hosting operations on the publisher's side, providing them with a means to enhance their efficiency and still uphold the standards of research integrity and quality.

Built by KGL's Smart Lab, the method places AI throughout the publishing pipeline instead of using it as a separate tool. It seeks to eliminate manual work, elevate editors' judgment, as well as enhance accessibility of research output in a world that is highly AI, powered.

One of the main features is the upgraded Smart Review system, which brings AI, supported inspections into the peer reviewing phases. This enables publishing houses to keep track of compliance, highlight the risk of bias, and in general, improve control over the handling of submissions.

By implementing these AI, driven processes, KGL wants to offer its assistance to publishing houses to increase their productivity, cover the whole range of accessibility provisions, and make scholarly materials ready for the latest types of digital discovery while at the same time making sure that the values of trust and transparency are not lost in the process of publishing.
