ISKCON News conducted an intriguing interview with Jagannath Das, delving into his incredible spiritual journey and the recent release of two books. Through his works, Das provides thought-provoking interpretations of ancient yogic texts.

Jagannath Das grew up in a household that emphasized devotion to Krishna and storytelling. He inherited this tradition from his father, who was a follower of Srila Prabhupada. His father's album "A Change of Heart" was instrumental in making Hare Krishna music more widely known.

Jagannath decided to devote his life to spirituality, which eventually led him to settle in the New Vrindavan ashram. His enthralling storytelling abilities caught the eye of famous personalities like Radhanath Swami, increasing his stature as a Mahabharat storyteller. Consequently, he received chances to collaborate on ventures such as a Mahabharat-inspired video game and the development of "The Illustrated Guide to the Vedic Universe."

Jagannath Das chose a unique path when his business ventures encountered difficulties. Instead, he authored books on specific topics that fascinated him. In his debut publication, "The Slayer of Tyrants," he delves into the little-explored Lila of Parasurama, a captivating tale in the Mahabharat. This book comprises 27 chapters that draw from the Brahmanda Purana, examining Parasurama's intriguing journey and his connection with Lord Krishna in great detail.

Jagannath's respect for the original source material is apparent in his writing style. He strives to present ancient texts in a way that preserves their sanctity and provides readers with an authentic experience. When discussing his book, he explains that he wrote it using a reverent approach, similar to that found in the Vedas. The book has received positive feedback from many readers who appreciate its depth and connection to Krishna.

Jagannath has expertise in various fields, including astrology, literature, and Yogic texts. He utilizes his knowledge of the Mahabharata and Yogic texts in his consultations and teachings. His focus is on providing individuals and organizations with informed insights into potential challenges and strengths, enabling them to make better decisions. Jagannath believes that maintaining a strong spiritual practice is crucial in enhancing one's ability to understand the interconnectedness of astrology and the Vedas.

Jagannath was asked why he shares his knowledge and he humbly replied that he wants to help others who are not as far along as he is. He shows his commitment to service through his online course called "Mahabharat for Beginners", which is affordable and aimed at introducing people of all ages to the fascinating Mahabharat stories, providing a meaningful and enjoyable experience.
