CBSE to Launch Budding Authors Programme Tomorrow

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will inaugurate the 'Budding Authors Programme' tomorrow, August 23. The CBSE Budding Authors Programme aims to give students a place to express themselves creatively. Students will read and write short stories, with the possibility of publication. At 3 p.m. tomorrow, the launch will be livestreamed on the CBSE Academics And Training YouTube channel.

The CBSE Budding Authors Programme has been developed in collaboration with the Central Square Foundation and Pratham Books' Story Weaver. According to an official release, the initiative is an extension of the CBSE Reading Mission and aims to transition students from the joy of reading to cultivating creative writing.

The CBSE Reading Mission, which began last September, aims to improve children' reading abilities. Students in CBSE-affiliated schools get access to English and Hindi literature as part of this objective. The 'CBSE Reading Mission' was created in collaboration with Pratham Books' StoryWeaver and the Central Square Foundation. StoryWeaver will have access to the reading material. During this mission, CBSE is delivering a range of student enrichment activities centred on language building to improve kids' reading skills, the board had stated, adding that the effort is in accordance with NEP 2020.
