The exciting 18th Tiruppur Book Festival received a massive amount of footfall and an amazing response from the public in the first few days. The spectacular event was inaugurated on April 14, being held at K.R.C. City Centre on Mangalam Road.

A member of the reception committee for the event, M. Thirupathy, said that around 7,000 people visited on Saturday, while Friday’s footfall was around 5,000 visitors. On the inauguration day, around 3,000 visitors attended the book fair.

The 17th Tiruppur Book Festival was held in 2020 from January 30 to February 9. The fair was not held in 2021 due to the pandemic. “As it is being held after a gap of two years, the public is showing interest to visit the fair,” Mr. Thirupathy said.

The Pinnal Book Trust and Bharathi Puthagalayam organized the book fair. It has 95 stalls with books from several different genres. The Book Fair will be held till April 24. Mr. Thirupathy noted that the organizers have decided on the timing which is from 3 pm to 9 pm. The fair will open at 11 am on the weekends.
