on Sep 29, 2022
The ninth edition of the Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is set to enthrall bibliophiles. The festival will take place in Odisha from the 16th to the 20th of December 2022. The theme of this year's festival is 'India and the World,' and it is expected to attract 400 speakers, poets, musicians, artists, and performers.
"The Kalinga Literary Festival 2022 returns with the promise of optimism and hope." Our return focuses on resilience and the Rise spirit. We are thrilled to reintroduce the joy of the literary spirit to the temple city of Bhubaneswar. "We welcome our delegates and performers and look forward to a fantastic festival," said Rashmi Ranjan Parida, the KLF's founder director.
The KLF will be held in a hybrid format, with three days of physical events and two days of online activities. Democracy, cultural nationalism, generation Y, Indian languages, publishing industry, mythology, media, market, children, women, transgender, citizen engagement, cinema, sports, ethics, discrimination, revolutions, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and harmony will all be covered.
In addition, there will be several one-on-one sessions with leading experts on the subjects, as well as storytelling sessions, which promise to add new flavor to the festival's literary spirit.
More than 30 new books and monographs will be released during the festival. The KLF delegates and speakers will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in the Mystic Walk Heritage Walk, as well as plantation and Mystic Mic. The KLF also provides a venue for artists to showcase their work and connect it to the festival's central theme. The festival's art segment, which showcases the best of contemporary artists' creations, draws artists from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and the national capital.
During the festival, four prestigious awards will be presented: the Kalinga Literary Award (for a distinguished Odia writer), the Kalinga International Literary Award (for a writer in any global language), the Kalinga Karubaki Literary Award (for women writers), and the Kalinga Literary Youth Award (for a young writer in any global language).
In addition, the KLF Book Awards 2022 will be announced in a variety of categories such as Non-fiction books, Fiction books, Poetry books, Hindi books, and books in Translation, among others. The books will be chosen from those submitted by publishers across all categories.
