The 2nd Ramadan Book Fair to Showcase a Diverse Range of Qatari and International Publishers

The second Ramadan Book Fair will include a recognized and diverse lineup of Qatari publishing companies and authorities from March 30 to April 5 at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal.

The book show included 48 publishing houses from 14 Arab and other countries and 31 Qatari organizations and publishing enterprises. In line with the nature and time of the event, the exhibition focused on religious books in addition to a broad range of children's books and literary, cultural, and intellectual reading.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency, Sheikha Sheikha Ahmed Al-Thani, the head of the marketing and sales department of Qatar University Press (QU Press), expressed her delight at participating in the second Ramadan Book Expo at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal (QNA). She commended the wonderful design of the display, which emphasized Qatar's heritage.

She said that besides selling books, the exhibition provides a range of Ramadan activities and events for the Qatari family. The book fair, which helps all aspects of society and the family, draws many publishing firms from inside and beyond the State of Qatar.

Murielle El Hajj Nahas, director of Lusail University Press (LU Press), told QNA that the publishing house is still in its early stages, having been founded in March 2023 to publish specialized, teaching, and reference books, as well as scientific journals that serve as a bridge between authors and readers across various fields of knowledge to advance and enrich global interaction.

She stated that the publishing industry would encourage scientific research produced in Arabic and translated into English so that it might be recognized worldwide.

Dr. Aisha Al Kuwari, CEO of Rosa Publishing House, told QNA that the company is participating in the Ramadan Book Fair for the second time, with around 200 book editions.

To meet the requirements of family members and improve public culture, the Rosa publishing company offers a variety of books, including adult and young adult literature, as well as varied intellectual works.

She said that because the exhibition's dominant theme is a family-friendly atmosphere, the emphasis has been on religious literature and books for children.
