The state government intends to launch the Connect Youth program to get pupils to read more books.

In July and August, the language and library department will run a campaign in which representatives from several libraries will stop by educational facilities and speak to kids.

Public libraries at the state, divisional, and district levels will host the campaign.

A booklet based on the strengths of their library will be created by librarians for this campaign and distributed to 25–30 educational institutions.

During a review meeting, Naveen Jain, secretary for the language and library department, delivered directions to authorities regarding the campaign.

"Regular efforts should be made at all levels to link new readers with libraries, emphasizing giving readers access to reference materials and textbooks that are appropriate for the requirements of the present. Regular updates should be made to general knowledge content, he suggested.
