This year's nine-day Shimla National Book Fair, which ended on Saturday, caught the interest of hundreds of young people.

During the national book expo, about 2.5 lakh books were shown by over 23 publications from around India. The organizers were pleased with the positive response from the youth who attended the book fair. The goal of the event, according to organizers, is to encourage people to read.

"The fair is organized by the Ojas Centre for Art and Readership Development." "This is our sixth annual book fair in Shimla," said fair organizer Sachin Choudhary.

"At the fair, I bought books for my brother." "The youth are more interested in mobile phones and the Internet, but reading books is a good habit," remarked Chahat, a young Punjabi student and visitor.

"I prefer reading books to surfing the Internet." "The Internet provides basic information, but books foster imagination and creativity," said Saod Salvia, a young customer.

"I think it was really nice to look at so many books under one roof," said Arundheti Thakur, a local. However, it could have been better. I saw a lot of books that were repeated and a lot of books that I wanted to see but couldn't find here. The fair, on the other hand, had a fine assortment of classic literature."
