Sharjah to Host 4th Intl Booksellers Conference with 575 Publishers

Sharjah will host 575 booksellers, publishers, and distributors from 92 countries at the 4th International Booksellers Conference on April 7-8 at Expo Centre Sharjah. The event was announced by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), who said it will be an international platform for addressing essential industry issues, building partnerships, and identifying business opportunities.

A Global Hub for Publishing Innovation

The summit seeks to propel collaboration in book distribution, unearth new market strategies, and stimulate exchange of knowledge through panel sessions, workshops, and keynote presentations by industry specialists.

CEO of SBA, Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, pointed out the importance of the event, saying:

"Though markets have been joined together by technology, the book distribution industry itself has challenges. The conference is meant to bring together international industry players to identify solutions and generate opportunities. With His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi at the helm, Sharjah is now a central location for cultural and publishing endeavors."

Key Topics and Discussions

The conference will discuss upcoming trends in bookselling, such as:
- Book sales & distribution using AI – Increasing efficiency & customer interaction

- Book influencers & social media marketing – How they engage readers

- Data management in bookselling – Enhancing sales & the customer experience

- Bookseller diversification – Developing new experiences to connect with readers

- Literary festivals & book clubs in cultural events – What role they play

Since e-commerce is of key importance to bookselling, sessions will identify methods of long-term online bookselling and share best practices of cultural event staging in bookshops to enrich users' experiences.

As Sharjah further cemented its ranking as a worldwide publishing powerhouse, the 4th International Booksellers Conference holds the promise to mold the industry's future based on innovation, cooperation, and mutual dedication toward enhancing reading culture globally.
