Raised and born in Chennai, Samyuktha Nair has been a voracious reader since childhood. She was particularly fond of history as a child, which led to a passion for historical fiction. As she matured, she started conducting archival research pertinent to her subjects of interest (the history of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, to be precise), and began writing historical fiction. The Ballad of Jew Town is her second book. Other than work, Samyuktha likes to read, travel to sites of historical value, and spend time with her pet dog.
