This book includes some Short stories that are very powerful as it portray the pain of the women of ramayana. Sita is the female protagonist of the masterpiece, Ramayana, that comes across four women Renuka, Ahalya, Surpanakha and Urmila while living in the ashram of sage valmiki after being abandoned from her palace by lord Rama. This book has depicted how they have suffered a lot and have also been a victim of oppression by the society and author volga gives voice to them. But after describing their pain , it also shows how they empowered themselves by accepting and liberating themselves all on their own without waiting for someone to come and do it for them.
