At the TikTok Book Awards held in London, Rebecca Yarros's fantasy novel Fourth Wing was honored as the International Book of the Year. The book gained significant traction on TikTok, driving it to the top of The New York Times bestseller list. Yarros credited the #BookTok community for her success in a video message, expressing gratitude for their support.
The awards, determined by votes from the #BookTok community, also recognized Lisa Jewell’s None of This Is True as Book of the Year. Jewell, who was surprised by the accolade, acknowledged the book's unconventional nature and its success on TikTok.
The awards highlighted several other winners, including Talia Hibbert as BookTok Breakthrough Author, Maisie Matilda as BookTok Creator of the Year, and John-Paul Kunrunmi as BookTok Rising Star Creator. Additionally, The Bookshop by the Sea was named Indie Bookshop of the Year, and Laurie Gilmore's The Pumpkin Spice Café won TikTok Shop Book of the Year.
