This year's edition received over 316,000 visitors, a 32% increase over the previous edition.
According to the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the 29th International Book and Publishing Fair (SIEL) attracted more than 316,000 people.
According to the minister's statement to the MAP, this edition had "a massive influx of visitors, with a total number exceeding 316,00, indicating an increase of 32%" over the previous edition.
According to the same source, this edition represents "a new stage in the history of this major cultural event, demonstrating with each edition the value and usefulness of the efforts made to make books more accessible to citizens."
SIEL's 29th edition, organized under the auspices of King Mohammed VI, had 743 exhibitors from 48 different nations.
The exhibitors offered a diverse documentary selection of about 100,000 titles in many sectors of study and interest.
This year's event featured the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as its guest of honor.
It was organized in collaboration with Rabat's Wilaya, the Rabat-Sale-Kenitra Regional Council, and the Rabat Commune.

The 2024 issue also included a new section dedicated to the work of well-known Marvel and DC Comics artists.
The cultural program was wide and diversified, transforming the exhibition spaces into an intellectual and creative oasis for thinkers, scholars, and writers.
SIEL is an international cultural event hosted annually by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
SIEL Casablanca became an annual cultural event in 2004, whereas the Book Fair has taken place every two years since 1987. The 27th edition was first held in Rabat in 2022.
According to the organizers, the Book Fair's goals include facilitating inter-professional communication among various branches of the book industry, encouraging reading and bringing books closer to Moroccan citizens, and promoting opportunities for exchanges between publishers, authors, and readers.
