Frontlist | Punekar Author Rohini Sathe Launches Latest Novel ‘Being Good Enough’
Pune-based author Rohini Paranjpe Sathe, recently announced the release of her latest novel titled ‘Being Good Enough’. Published by Locksley Hall Publishing LLP and backed by India’s leading literary agents – The Book Bakers, the book has already been creating ripples on book charts across India. Within just days of its release, the book has been topping charts in the drama fiction category. Equipped with strong characterizations, ‘Being Good Enough’ takes the readers along a roller-coaster of events, emotions, and experiences. The book comes after Rohini’s majorly successful novel ‘Of Swans & Songs’ that was said to have made waves across India. “Rohini’s strong voice and powerful narrative in addition to the realistic characters in the story really gave us a lot to work with. The book, which is already doing great in terms of sales, is a reaffirmation of our belief and trust in her work. We look forward to continuing working with Rohini on many more impactful novels in the future.” said the happy publishers at Locksley Hall Publishing LLP. Born and raised in Pune, Rohini studied and trained to be an economist, completing her graduation with an Economics major from Fergusson College, and also went to pursue her M.Phil at The Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune University. Her first and enduring love of Hindustani classical music inspired her to re-school herself under the intensive tutelage of her Guru, Dr. Madhuri Joshi, an accomplished classical vocalist. The wealth of emotions in music allowed her to reflect the same in her writing. For years, she’d been consistently writing blogs, articles, film reviews, which finally led to her publishing her very first novel – ‘Of Swans & Songs’  a collection of short stories  about ordinary, everyday people – the drama in their lives, in their struggles and dreams. The book was received very well by readers across India and went on to become a nation-wide best-seller. Her latest novel ‘Being Good Enough’ was officially launched on February 7th during an online ceremony. The launch garnered views in several thousand worldwide, making it a rampant success, brought out the various topical themes that featured in the book, the patriarchal and religious divides, violence against women, and the resilience of the female protagonist. Also discussed was the writing style of the author and its appeal, her source of inspiration for this particular narrative, and a behind-the-scenes look into the state of the publishing industry and why the literary agency and the publishers backed this book, terming it as the perfect amalgamation of creativity and commercial interests. “Being Good Enough is the perfect amalgamation of classy content that is still massy in its appeal; a rarity these days but Ms. Sathe has pulled it off with aplomb and the deserved success the book has received in such a short span of time is no surprise,” said Suhail Mathur, literary agent at The Book Bakers Literary Agency “Writing this book was an intensely emotional experience for me. Empathy is a human quality that is not celebrated enough, but it is that which made me feel the characters’ joy, pain, and peace as if it were all my own. And it is that which I hope to arouse in the reader. I have put a lot of mind, heart, and soul into writing this book, and I look forward to sharing it with people across India, and I hope to make the people of my hometown, Pune, proud” said Rohini, speaking on the launch of her latest novel. ‘Being Good Enough’ is priced at Rs.299 and is available for purchase on Amazon & Pustakmandi.
