The next The Temple of Earth and Me book expo in Beijing is set to feature over 400,000 books, a record amount of books and a diverse range of genres ranging from Chinese colorism to worldwide award-winning series.

The 11-day book fair, which has a rich history, will begin on September 8 in Ditan Park, also known as the Temple of Earth. During the Ming and Qing periods (1368-1911), it was the city's second largest imperial altar and was used to worship the Earth God.

The total exhibition area of this book fair is 15,000 square metres, with 350 exhibition booths divided into eight unique zones presenting high-quality books from 208 exhibitors.

Different exposition sections will cater to the demands of various readers.

A Beijing Cultural Exhibition Area will mix the history and cultural treasures of the Temple of Earth to display the capital city's rich history. The area will be dedicated to displaying and selling exceptional traditional Chinese culture books and antique books.

The Bookstore Exhibition Area will bring together a significant number of influential bookshops, such as China Books and PAGEONE, to present each store's unique concepts, selected collections, and independent cultural products, as well as other independent cultural products.

The Foreign Books Exhibition Area houses about 5,000 different types of foreign language books, including the Harry Potter series, as well as over 1,000 different types of foreign audio and video items, classical music, and hi-fi CDs.

Many famous writers will be present at the book fair to provide readers with a unique reading experience of masterpieces: Hans Christian Andersen Award winner Cao Wenxuan will give a reading sharing session of his realistic children's novel Pomegranate Boat, and Qiao Ye, winner of the 11th Mao Dun Literature Award, will meet readers with his award-winning "soil novel" Bao Shui.

Visitors to this year's book fair will be admitted free of charge, and each exhibitor will announce special deals. The book market will also fulfil its social responsibility by starting a catastrophe relief donation drive.
