The Winners of the 2024 New Brunswick Book Awards were Announced | Frontlist

The ninth annual New Brunswick Book Awards were awarded live on June 1 in Moncton, New Brunswick. The prizes are administered by the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick (WFNB).

Lisa Alward received the Mrs. Dunster's Award for Fiction for her short story collection Cocktail (Biblioasis). Cocktail was also nominated for the 2024 Carol Shields Prize for Fiction.

Sara O'Leary received the Alice Kitts Memorial Award for Excellence in Children's Writing for The Little Books of the Little Brontës (Tundra). Briony May Smith illustrated the book.

Fawn Parker won the Fiddlehead Poetry Book Prize for Soft Inheritance (Palimpsest Press).

Anne Koval received the Writers' Federation of New Brunswick Nonfiction Award for Mary Pratt: A Love Affair with Vision (Goose Lane Publishing).

The shortlists for the 2024 awards were released in March.

The prizes were judged by writers Donna Morrissey, Deborah Kerbel, Bertrand Bickersteth, and Madhur Anand.
