The International Book Fair opens in Buenos Aires, Argentina

The El Libro Foundation manages the festival, which runs until May 13 at the La Rural Exhibition Center and features the city of Lisbon as the guest of honor.

Before the show opened to the public, professional days were held this week, featuring workshops, debates, and talks regarding the publishing sector.

The event brought together publishers, booksellers, distributors, agents, graphic designers, translators, illustrators, and librarians for commercial exchanges, business meetings, and training sessions.

According to a Foundation press release, the fair aims to create "a book city" with over 45,000 square meters of exhibition space.

The event is notable for its diverse program, which includes over 1,500 cultural projects such as keynote speeches, launches, seminars, lectures, book signings, a poetry festival, a storytellers' meeting, and a day of microfiction, among others, according to the text.
