As reported, the decision was made by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre under the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi following consultations with international publishing companies, industry partners, and authorities of the UAE.

This event represents one of the most important cultural and literary initiatives in the region gathering prominent representatives of the international publishing community. As a result, the organizers have decided to change the time of holding the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in order to enhance access to this event for foreign attendees.

The switch of dates does not have an impact on the basic identity of the fair. It will continue to serve as a dynamic venue for the global publishing community where rights transactions, networking opportunities, and discussions about the state of affairs take place. Apart from its professional agenda, the fair will keep presenting its open program including book readings by authors, panel discussions, book signing sessions, and other events for a larger audience.
The special feature of this year’s fair will be its integration with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, which is regarded as one of the most renowned literary prizes awarded in the Arab world. This prize has been established in the honor of Sheikh Zayed and recognizes the outstanding contributions to the literary heritage of the region.
