Metro Book Fairs Launch at Kanpur's Key Underground Stations

As after inauguration of Priority Corridor (IIT to Motijheel), book fair is being organized at the Motijheel Metro station. With recent passenger service expansion, book fairs were held for the first time at metro stations at underground levels too, gaining huge appreciation from commuters. The fairs enhance the metro travel by spreading a culture of reading.

With the help of diverse

organisations, book fairs are being organized at three big stations-Kanpur Central, Bada Chauraha, and Motijheel. The fairs will remain open till the end of June and can be extended later depending on the response from the public. Travelers can be spotted taking a break from their travel to shop and browse their preferred books. Transported to the realm of their favorite authors, readers spend much of their time lost in the literary world.

English books aside, Hindi books are also in great demand. In consideration of the needs of readers, the fairs have English books by both Indian and international authors.

Special care is being taken to provide books for the interests of the youth at all three stations.

General knowledge and motivational books are made available with students' needs as a priority. Biographies of renowned personalities such as Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi and the works of renowned authors, philosophers, and thinkers globally are also included. For finance and investment professionals, there is a nice collection of books. There are comics, the 'Manga' series, Harry Potter books, and superhero books for kids. Besides books, inspirational posters, landscape photographs, and high-end stationery items-liked by young readers-are also being sold.
