A top Noida-based book printer, Kaveri Print Process has been enhancing the machine portfolio of its facility that features entire lines of pre-press, press, and post-press machines and devices. In its recent enhancement, the firm invested in a new Komori Lithrone G37 (25x37-inch) sheetfed offset press purchased from Komori India.

"Previous good experience with Komori value and quality came as our machine fleet was supplemented by an Enthrone 429 in 2013. We are thereafter besotted by Komori and our recent investment in the new four-colour Lithrone G37 has written a new page in book printing for us to indulge in high quality and speed production," Atul Goel, managing director, Kaveri Print Process, added.

Kaveri works with about 15 top book publishers, according to Goel. "We print spiral and paperback books, and some hardbound books. In volume terms, we supply about 15 tonnes on a daily basis, i.e., at least 45,000 centre-stitched and paperback books. Now, we have to expand it with our team's dedication and continuous investment in new machines like the Lithrone G37," said.

Ankit and Raghav Goel assist him in the business. Ankit Goel, a 14-year veteran of the business, avers that some changes have been made at Kaveri Print Process since his joining. "A number of new machines and equipment including CTPs, cutting machines, and a Rs 13-crore worth folding machine have been included in our portfolio over the past three years.". And due to this, we have earned CAGR of about 15-16%.

Alongside Komori, Kaveri Print Process presently has a machinery list comprising two TechNova VioStar CTP units, two eight-color Heidelberg SM-102 press, one five-color SM-74 coater, and other machines. "We are then looking into using the capability of our new Lithrone G37 with which we produce approximately 75% books.". With quicker makeready time, this Komori press is extremely versatile to process a variety of substrates like art paper for printing colourful children's books," he added.

On selecting the Lithrone G37, Raghav Goel stated that Komori has become a hallmark of every book printer around. He added, "We are keen to increase our existing daily production capacity of 15 tonnes to 22 tonnes with the versatility and productivity of Lithrone G37." An Amity University Graduate, BBA, Raghav Goel is instrumental in winning a few public tenders that involve the printing of New India Samachar, a fortnightly government magazine. He further said that the book printing business is very tough with full of obstacles but engaging at last. "When Kindle came out and Covid-19 entered the market, people thought that the age of physical books has ended. But we term it as 'a blessing in disguise' when academic community understood the fact that real classes are imagined only with physical classrooms with printed books," he claims.

Regarding the company's next-step strategy, Raghav Goel stated, "We are keen to enhance our machine portfolio with the newest technologies to play around quality, innovation, and efficiency in book printing. Our next-step strategy is to enhance the book bindery and gathering division with one more new cutting machine to be added to the current line of four cutters.
