Education Ministry Launches ‘Shiksha Saptah’ Campaign to Mark NEP 2020's 4th Anniversary

The Union Ministry of Education has initiated a week-long "Shiksha Saptah" campaign to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, according to an official release on Sunday.

The Department of School Education and Literacy has outlined suggested activities for schools during this celebration. Seven schools nationwide are focusing on enhancing community involvement in education through the Vidyanjali and Tithi Bhojan initiatives.

Vidyanjali, a school volunteer management program launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 7, 2021, aims to bolster schools and improve education quality through community, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and private sector participation.

As part of the campaign, schools are encouraged to register on the Vidyanjali portal and identify local volunteers for support. These volunteers will be recognized on a "Wall of Fame/Notice Board" within the schools. Additionally, principals, teachers, and students will express their gratitude by writing letters to these volunteers.

The campaign also includes community awareness activities such as rallies, street plays, poster-making, and chart-making to promote volunteer activities. State and district-level officials are actively involved to ensure the campaign's success, aligning with NEP 2020’s goal of increasing community participation in education.

These initiatives aim to create a robust support system for students and teachers, fostering a better learning environment by uniting schools, volunteers, and the community through the Vidyanjali portal.
