Literary and cultural aficionados are in for a treat as the Pragjyotispur Literature Festival (PLF) prepares to make its mark in Guwahati from September 29th to October 1st, 2023. According to a press release, the Shankardev Education and Research Foundation (SERF) will organise a national-level literature festival with the goal of positioning India as a literary and cultural hub. The District Library and the Axom Sahitya Sabha premises in Guwahati have been picked as the locations.

In the first press conference conducted recently at Dispur Press Club Guwahati, Mr. Phanindra Kr. Debchaudhury, President of the working committee, and Mr. Bikram Kalita, General Secretary, announced the festival's grand ideas.

According to the press release, PLF will take place from September 29th to October 1st, 2023, and will provide a forum for writers and poets from across the country to come together and share their works of art.

The establishment of the coveted "Pragjyotishpur Literature Award" was one of the day's major announcements. As said, this award will recognise both experienced writers and bright newbies.

The festival's fundamental topic was announced by Dr. Sudeshna Bhattacharya, Head of the Sanskrit Department at Guwahati University and Secretary of SERF: "In Search of Roots." She emphasised the necessity of educating the youth about India's rich ancient legacy, culture, and literature, transforming PLF into a venue for cultural reconnection as well as a celebration of words.

Dr. Sarita Sharma, Vice President of the organising committee, discussed a variety of themes that would be featured throughout the festival. History, culture, translation, literature, nature, cinema, quizzes, and workshops are among the topics covered, promising an exploration of India's diverse literary and cultural landscape.

Both the President and Secretary of the organising committee issued a heartfelt invitation to all in their closing statements, asking cooperation and support to achieve the spectacular success of the Pragjyotishpur Literature Festival 2023. With an inspiring subject, a remarkable lineup of literary heavyweights, and a dedication to conserving India's rich literary and cultural history, is destined to be a landmark event in the country's cultural landscape. Literary aficionados from all across India and beyond can expect a lively celebration of language, culture, and tradition in the heart of Guwahati.
