PM Modi advocates for multilingual education while interacting with teachers by speaking with the winners of this year's National Teachers Awards. This morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had an enriching and enlightening discussion with these teachers as a presentation of their innovation in education blended with their passion for academics.

During this event, the PM underlined the importance of moulding tender minds for 'Viksit Bharat' and saluted the teachers for their unique contribution to the New Education Policy, 2020.

During the interaction, many teachers shared their experiences in teaching and innovative teaching methodologies that have been adopted in different parts of the country with the PM. Asha Rani, a Sanskrit teacher from Jharkhand, also participated in it, teaching moral values to her students through Sanskrit shlokas.

He further said encouragingly, "There are online Vedic mathematics classes available. In the UK, Vedic mathematics has already been introduced in the syllabi in certain places. Children who do not like mathematics will find it magical and be eager to learn. So, try to introduce some subjects from the heritage of our country through Sanskrit."

The next presentation was made by Sagar, an art teacher from Kolhapur (Maharashtra) who shared his experiences in integrating Indian Culture, Folk Dances, and classical dances into the education system for more than thirty years.

She introduced Avinasha Sharma, an English lecturer from Haryana, who spoke about how she was engaged in setting up a Language Lab by combining AI tools to aid students from deprived backgrounds in learning English. Her work has converted her class into a "global classroom" where the students converse with faculty and friends from Columbia University and other global institutions.

Modi concluded his speech by saying that India should start letting its children learn multiple languages and start celebrating each language as a symbol of love, peace, and cultural exchanges.

He also offered key suggestions for teachers to help students learn about our country's great cultural richness and beauty, such as inducting songs in different Indian languages into schools. Besides, educational tours should be made more meaningful so that schools teach students about the destinations before actually visiting them.
