In the 116th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted libraries as pivotal hubs of creativity and education. Emphasizing the role of libraries in nurturing a love for books, he said, “Books are said to be man’s best friend” and libraries are the perfect place to strengthen this bond.
PM Modi commended various library initiatives transforming communities. In Chennai, the Prakrith Arivagam library, conceptualized by tech professional Shriram Gopalan, was praised for its collection of over 3,000 books and engaging programs like storytelling, art workshops, and public speaking, all aimed at igniting creativity in children.
He also applauded Hyderabad’s Food for Thought Foundation, which has set up numerous libraries to provide children access to reliable information.
In Bihar’s Golapganj, the Prayog Library was recognized for supporting youth across 12 villages, offering resources for competitive exam preparation and promoting education.
PM Modi urged people to embrace books, stating, “Increase your friendship with books and witness remarkable changes in your life.
