Oman has been named a 'distinguished guest' at the Seoul International Book Fair, which runs from June 26 to June 30. The honor falls on the 50th anniversary of the commencement of bilateral ties between Oman and South Korea.

The sultanate's involvement in the fair will include a variety of cultural activities and interactive seminars. Omani writers and experts on Oman-Korea relations will lead conversations, emphasizing the two countries' shared cultural history and long-standing affinity.

This project is especially important because it coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries."

He stated that the participation intends to develop cultural and intellectual communication frameworks, which are consistent with MCSY's cultural strategy and the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which are to promote national identity, citizenship, and worldwide cultural dissemination.

H E Busaidi emphasized his ministry's efforts to enhance the creative and cultural movement, as well as its leadership role in fostering Omani intellectual pursuits.

At the event, Oman will host cultural programs such as panel talks with Omani writers and specialists on Oman-Korea relations, as well as an exhibition of valuable manuscripts aimed at engaging the Korean public.

Oman's pavilion at the exhibition will have several distinct corners, including a 'Omani Publications Corner' that will display works from government and civil society institutions such as MCSY, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, the Cultural Club, and the Omani Society for Writers and Literati.

In addition, there will be an Arabic Calligraphy Corner with live demonstrations, an Omani Manuscripts Corner, and an Omani Majlis Corner with traditional Omani hospitality and information on customs and traditions.

The pavilion will also showcase Omani cultural aspects on the Unesco List of Intangible Cultural Heritage, such as the Omani dagger and Omani coffee, through immersive VR experiences that will engage visitors. Visual displays of cultural and tourist attractions throughout the Sultanate will supplement the exhibition.
