Nine publishers awarded by BKash

BKash honoured nine publishers with various awards for selling the most books through bKash payments at the Ekushey Book Fair 2022. Winners were selected from three categories of publishers at the book fair.

According to a press release, "Anyaprokash" received the highest payment through bKash in the "Pavilion" category and won an iPhone, while "Baati Ghar" and "The PopUp Factory" also won the iPhone in two booth categories. "Tamura Lipi" won in the pavilion category while "Adalsha" and "Parijat Prakashani" won in the stalled category with the second prizes of Dhaka-Cox's Bazar-Dhaka ticket and two nights at a five-star hotel. Protomas", "Gannkos Prokashani" and "Astitwa" won the third prize in a buffet dinner at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden.

The award was recently presented to the publishers at bKash headquarters in the city. Anyoprakash publisher Mazharul Islam, publisher of Baati Ghar Dipankar Das, Rumana Sharmin of PopUp Factory; Mohammad Irfanul Huq, Head of Distribution and Retail and Sirajul Mowla, General Manager of bKash attended the event. 

 BKash, the country's largest MFS provider, hosted this event to encourage publishers to accept digital payments while selling their books in the market. 

 Digital payments via bKash are gaining in popularity from brand stores across the country to online marketplaces, local grocery stores, pharmacies, libraries, and lifestyle shops. Currently, bKash has over 260,000 merchants nationwide. 

bKash has long been involved in book fairs hosted by the  Bangla Academy. It offered cashback offers at book fairs to encourage people to buy more books. bKash has also partnered with the Bangla Academy Ekushey Book Fair as its main sponsor for five years.
