Literati Book Fairs, based in Austin, Texas, has announced that it would expand into the Mid-Atlantic region beginning with the 2024-2025 school year. The firm will now hold book fairs at pre-K-8 elementary schools in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia. Previously, fairs were mostly found in the Midwest and South.

Literati Book Fairs has had tremendous expansion since purchasing Follett Book Fairs' program in January 2022 and relaunching in March with a rebranding, reaching more than five million students across 29 states via four distribution centers. It is still the only real competitor to Scholastic in school book clubs, which raise funds for classrooms and teachers.

Literati collaborates with over 150 publishing houses as well as some independent authors, including Marcus Emerson, creator of the Kid YouTuber series.

"This expansion allows us to reach even more families, providing students, librarians, teachers, and parents with access to Literati's expertly curated book fair," said Barb Wing, Senior Vice President of Sales at Literati. "We're excited to help families support their students at school, in the classroom, and at home through our book fairs, classroom offering, and book clubs for kids."

Literati established Literati Classrooms last year, an e-commerce platform that allows parents and families around the country to order books for their homes and classrooms while also contributing to classroom fundraisers. Literati's book box initiative allows schools to earn additional revenue.
