Kalinga Literary Festival 2023: A Celebration For Literature And Art Aficionados
This year's KLF, which has become one of India's most famous literary events and draws both seasoned writers and aspiring authors, will take place in the temple city of Bhubaneswar from February 24 to February 26.on Feb 14, 2023
The annual venerated Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) will be hosted from February 24 to February 26 this year in the temple city of Bhubaneswar. The 9th annual literature festival, which will be organised at Hotel Swosti Premium, will exhibit an exciting mix of authors, speakers, philosophers, and humanitarians from all walks of life.
The Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) 2023 edition commemorates "India and the World" against the backdrop of India's G20 Presidency by promoting international and domestic conversations on a range of literary subjects, such as lived experience, politics, art, film, business, media, and sports. All KLF sessions are live-streamed on the leading social media platforms, and entry to the festival is free. The festival has welcomed almost 2500 speakers and performers worldwide since its inception in 2013.
The festival will feature over 500 speakers from different countries and regions, including those who have won prestigious prizes like the Nobel, the Booker, the International Booker, and the Sahitya Akademi. The speakers will discuss a variety of topics, including the ongoing climate justice debate under the theme of "The Urgency of Borrowed Time," Innovative female authors and creators with an emphasis on the female voice and identity, among other topics, crime fiction, memoir, translation, poetry, economics, tech morality, artificial intelligence, the global financial crisis, cutting-edge science, art and photography, health and medicine.
Rashmi Ranjan Parida, the founder, and director of KLF says, "International Booker Prize winner Geetanjali Shree will join us. We are immensely privileged to have Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi and many other international and Sahitya Akademi awardees. The esteemed Kalinga Literary Award in literature will be presented during the fest.
The literary festival will represent a fantastic range of linguistic diversity, represented by 10 countries and over 25 languages. The KLF has established itself as one of India's top literary venues, drawing writers of all ages. For literature, art enthusiast, or a publisher with a particular interest in India's literary and political relationship with the world, KLF 2023 is a rewarding opportunity to establish new relationships with your favourite writers and publishers
The sessions shall cover subject matters such as democracy, cultural nationalism, Generation Z, Indian languages, the publishing industry, mythology, media, the market, the concerns of children, women, and transgender people, citizen engagement, cinema, sports, ethics, discrimination, revolution, peace-building, conflict resolution, and harmony.
In addition, more than 30 new books and monographs will be published throughout the three-day event. The attendees and KLF Speakers will have an exceptional opportunity to participate in a heritage walk called 'Mystic Walk' and in a plantation drive and 'Mystic Mic .'Every day of the three-day programme will feature a cultural programme showcasing India's literature, arts, and traditions. On the festival's first day, 26 authors in various categories will receive KLF Book Awards 2022 awards.
The Kalinga Art Festival, uniquely, has a special art section designed to highlight the best of the creations of contemporary artists. In its fifth year, the art festival attracts young artists from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and the national capital. Over 100 artists will join the Kalinga Art Festival.
