As the world absorbs the news of Vladimir Putin’s pre-dawn invasion of Ukraine, Ursula von der Leyen in her statement from the European Union has called it a “barbaric attack” and expressions of revulsion, anger, and dismay are arriving from various parts of the international book publishing industry and community.
