Hosur book fair

On Saturday's second day, the 11th Hosur Book Fair drew hundreds of visitors. The fair was launched on Friday at a hotel in Mookandapalli Sipcot on the Hosur-Bengaluru National Highway. It was organised by the Krishnagiri district administration and the Tamil Nadu Science Forum.

The 12-day event, which runs through July 19, features 100 stalls with thousands of books on display. The fair is free to enter and is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Buses have been set up by the organisers to transport schoolchildren to the fair, and they are handed coupons good for 50 rupees worth of literature.

The kids perform cultural programmes every day from 5 to 6 o'clock in the evening. Distinguished authors, social activists, and scientific authorities will present talks at 6 o'clock. In addition to a chess tournament, the organisers intend to hold a drawing competition for kids in Classes LKG through XII on the themes of "Nature and Urbanization."
