Renowned Himachal Pradesh writer SR Harnot has achieved significant recognition as thirteen of his short stories are now part of the syllabi at various universities across India. His works feature in BA and MA courses, with numerous MPhil and PhD scholars also conducting research on his stories.

This year alone, five of his Hindi short stories have been included in academic courses. "Nadi Gayab Hai" is being taught at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, while "Cats Chat '' is part of the syllabus at Mumbai University. "Bhagadevi ka Chaighar" is included at Kolkata University, and "Aabhi" is studied at Gurukashi University in Punjab. Additionally, his story "Maa Padhati Hai" is featured in the NCERT's mother-centric collection, "Rishton Ki Khidkiyan."

Previously, Harnot’s stories have been incorporated into the curricula of institutions such as Kerala University, Central University of Punjab, Central University of Himachal Pradesh in Dharamsala, Gautam Buddha University in Noida, and Jain University in Bangalore. Last year, his popular short story "Jeenkaathi" was added to the MA (Hindi) syllabus at Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. English translations of his stories "Aabhi" and "Lal Hota Darakht" are included in BA (English) courses. In Kerala, his story "M.dot.com" is taught to Class XII students.

Harnot is the first author from Himachal Pradesh to have more than 20 MPhil research theses dedicated to his work. Seven scholars have been awarded doctorates based on his writings, and nine PhD scholars are currently researching his contributions to literature.

Expressing his gratitude, Harnot stated that there is no greater honor than having his works taught in universities across the country, attributing his success to the blessings of Himachal Pradesh.
