Film Ink Grant Program Supports Authors in Documenting Indian Cinematic History

Film Ink Grant Program Supports Authors in Documenting Indian Cinematic History | Frontlist

A platform for entertainment journalism A Suitable Agency and Film Companion have established a writing grant program called Film Ink to develop and promote creative, well-researched books that highlight notable figures and significant events in Indian cinematic history. 

The goal of the award is to support a group of authors who will document the artistic excellence and variety of Indian films.

A Suitable Agency will provide publishing assistance in addition to a grant of Rs 2.5 lakh for each of the two authors with strong book ideas. Balaji Vittal, a writer and journalist, Deepanjana Pal, a writer and journalist, and Uday Bhatia, a cinema critic, and journalist, make up the jury.

Residents and citizens of India who are older than 18 may apply for the award. Applicants must submit an original English book idea on any character or topic associated with an Indian film. 

Two of the six shortlisted applicants will be chosen to win the funding after presenting their proposal to the judges. The winning authors will receive assistance from A Suitable Agency in having their novels published.
