Education Minister today launched AICTE’s Lilavati Awards 2020 virtually. The award intends to recognize the efforts being made by AICTE approved institutions to treat women in all spheres of their lives.
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has launched AICTE’s Lilavati Awards 2020 virtually today, November 17. The theme of the award was Women Empowerment and this award intends to recognize the efforts being made by AICTE approved institutions to treat women with ‘equality and fairness’ in all spheres of their lives. AICTE Chairman Prof. Anil Sahasrabudhe and Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare were also present at the online launch event today. The objective of the award is to create awareness about issues like sanitation, hygiene, health, nutrition using traditional Indian values and also to create awareness about issues like literacy, employment, technology, credit, marketing, innovation, skill development, natural resources, and rights among women. As per the official statement released by the Council, the award has been divided into various categories and entries for the award are invited under the category Institutional/ Team Level which comprises of students/ faculty/ both from AICTE approved technical institution / Deemed to be University who had undertaken remarkable intervention in the various sub-themes and made an impact in the society. The team has to showcase their work undertaken in the last two years from the date of announcement of the award for the cause of women empowerment. Teams can apply for AICTE’s Lilavati Awards 2020 till December 31, 2020, on the official link lilavati.aicteindia.org. The eligible entries received from different institutions will be evaluated by a committee and the winning team will get certificates for first, second & third rank under every sub-theme.
