Even now, many Indian children are uneasy discussing first love and passion with their parents.
Instead, people frequently seek advice from the internet or friends, which may not be entirely correct. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented a progressive strategy by introducing Value Education books for Class 9 students.

The book aims to shed light on chapters and subjects such as dating, relationships, cyberbullying, catfishing, and ghosting. The book has also covered topics like crushes and'special' friendships, explaining these concepts with easy illustrations.

Several users on the social networking site X (previously Twitter) commented on the CBSE Class 9 chapters. While some praised the move, others appeared astonished and unsure if it was genuine. One such X user asked, "Is this for real?"

Onashpatee, an X user, tweeted photographs of the Dating & Relationships chapter with the caption, "9th class textbooks nowadays."

A user on X expressed support for the inclusion of dating and love topics in CBSE Class 9 textbooks. That was a good move. Nowadays, most youngsters of that age end up dating. Instead of being in denial, it is smart to educate them about this and safe intercourse.

Another user commented, "The recent addition of a chapter on dating and relationships to the class 9th textbook by #CBSE has raised some concerns. While the motivation for this change may be excellent, every topic introduced to the curriculum must be generally recognised and understood by society."

One user elaborated on the positive aspects, writing, "CBSE Class 9 Book Has Chapters On Dating And Relationships."

So? What's wrong with it? Teens are already navigating relationships, often through confusing internet sources such as Instagram reels and web series. The chapters provide structured information to help them comprehend consent, manage emotions, and avoid online dangers. "Talking openly about healthy relationships is preferable to keeping teens in the dark."
