In order to honor iconic Tamil writers such as Thi Janakiraman, Azha Valliappa, and Ki Rajanarayanan on their centenaries, the Tamil Nadu Textbook Corporation and Educational Services Corporation have decided to publish a book that features each writer's work. This initiative is part of Nootrandu Kaanum Aalumaigal, an ongoing project that aims to honor eminent writers and help young readers become more familiar with their work.

The Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation plans to create books containing 600 pages each. The books will include excerpts from the works of the writers, reviews, and essays on how contemporary writers view them. The project involves family members of writers and modern writers.

Sahitya Akademi releases books on authors as part of the Indiya Illakiya Sirpigal series. The books feature the author’s life history, their contribution to literature, and a review of their work. Anbazhagan, Ku Alagirisami, Puliyur Kesigan, and Pulavar Nannan are some of the writers whose books will be released soon. The project will be funded with a revolving fund of `10 crore. If the books are not nationalized, the authors will be paid an honorarium for their work.

Janakiraman’s daughter, Uma Sankari, and author Ravisubramaniyan compiled the writer’s works. Ravisubramaniyan said, “I had already read about 60% of his works. It took me over three months to finish reading the rest. After that, we created a questionnaire to determine which works to include in the book. It took us around a month to summarize the works. We covered all genres and wrote summaries for five novels, including Mogmul and Amma Vandal. Such compilations exist in English and are essential to encourage young readers to find their interests and read more.”
