The 2024 China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair is scheduled to be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Centre from November 15 to 17. It will feature 497 publishers and exhibitors from 32 different countries and regions and showcase over 20 thousand new children's book titles.

This event is organized by Shanghai Xinhua Distribution Group, China Education Publishing & Media Group, China Universal Press & Publication Company, and Ronbo BolognaFiere Shanghai, with the support of BolognaFiere S.p.A.

The fair is recognized as the foremost exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to children's book publishing and content aimed at readers aged 0 to 16. The fair anticipates around 45,000 visitors this year, who will also engage in 353 professional exchange sessions and reading promotion activities.

The exhibition area, spanning 25,000 sq.m., will be divided into the Copyright Zone and Hybrid Zone. The Copyright Zone will be accessible exclusively to industry professionals, focusing on facilitating copyright transactions and international cooperation in children's literature.

The Hybrid Zone will combine business functions with retail, opening to professionals on November 15 and to the general public from November 16-17.

With the theme of Embracing the Future, this fair has become a crucial contributor to the evolution of China's children's publishing sector. According to Chai Chengwei, general manager of Ronbo BolognaFiere Shanghai, the number of international exhibitors has grown from 25 countries and regions to 32 this year, garnering significant attention from more foreign exhibitors, who are presenting increasingly diverse content to Chinese readers.

Writers from across the globe, including Caldecott Medal winner Jon Klassen, author of Diary of a Wimpy Kid Jeff Kinney, and Spanish author Anna Llenas, known for The Color Monster Collection, will be present at the fair to share the stories behind their works, alongside prominent Chinese authors such as Cao Wenxuan, Qin Wenjun, and Hao Jingfang.
